From 7th to 11th October 2024, participants of the QUARSU project visited the University College Cork (UCC) for the QUARSU study visit and project meeting
Within the framework of the study visit to the Ireland project participants have listened to the following topics:
1. UCC basic facts: history, structure, management system; faculties, programmes (fields of education); quality assurance; research activities; other basic facts.
2. Overview of higher education system in Ireland: Structure; Types of higher education institutions; Levels of higher education; National Qualifications Framework and its comparison to EQF; Academic and professional (occupational) qualifications; Accreditation system.
3. Education system at UCC:
- Higher education standards (if applicable);
- Study programmes developing and approval, monitoring and review (principles, provisions, examples).
Programme learning outcomes and programme unit (course unit) learning outcomes (development and documentation);
- Study process organization; Evaluation; Grade scale, Students’ progress monitoring; Final attestation and graduation statistics;
- Academic qualifications awarding; Professional (occupational) qualifications awarding (if applicable);
- Diploma(s) and Diploma Supplement(s), Transcript of Records, Other certificates issued for students (if applicable).
Familiarization with relevant documentation (if available).
4. Recognitioin of Prior Learning at UCC:
- Recognition of qualifications and recognition of prior learning outcomes;
- Institutional regulations / provisions; Responsible departments and procedures;
- Microcredetials (if appliucable);
- Practical examples and documentation.
